HOW WE GIVE BACK

The Coach Foundation

Since 2008, the Coach Foundation has given more than $55 million to nonprofit partners all over the world to do our small part to make big dreams possible. Learn more about the Coach Foundation’s mission here.

Dream It Real

Grounded in a mission to help break cycles of inequality by empowering the next generation to reach their full potential through higher education, Dream It Real partners with nonprofits around the world to help break down the systemic barriers that prevent young people from achieving dreams.

Today, we are proud to partner with The Opportunity Network, Year Up, Bottom Line, the China Youth Development Fund, Katariba and UK Youth to help provide opportunity through access to education.

Since launching Dream It Real in 2018, The Coach Foundation is proud to have donated over $5 million to support our Dream It Real mission around the world.

Standing With and Supporting the Black Community

In June 2020, Coach announced its commitment to supporting nonprofits working at the forefront of addressing racial inequality, with a focus on protecting voting rights, public safety, and expanding education opportunities.

The commitment was announced along with Coach’s partnership with More Than A Vote, a voting rights organization led by LeBron James and a coalition of Black athletes and entertainers aimed at combating voter suppression and misinformation that disproportionately disenfranchises communities of color.

To further help break cycles of inequality, the Coach Foundation in partnership with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) launched the Dream It Real Scholarship to support students attending historically Black colleges and universities with one year of academic tuition, mentorship and career development.

The Coach Foundation is also proud to continue its support of the Equal Justice Initiative and its work changing the narrative about race in America and fighting against racial and economic injustice.

To further support non-profits fighting racial injustice, the Coach Foundation committed to double-matching every Tapestry employee’s donations to partners doing this work. Collectively, our North America Tapestry colleagues and the Coach Foundation have donated over $120,000 to 55 organizations, including the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, the Equal Justice Initiative and Black Lives Matter.

Our Response to COVID-19

To date, the Coach Foundation and Coach brand has committed $5 million in COVID-19 relief and the Coach brand has donated over $4 million worth of product (retail value) to healthcare frontline responders and COVID-19-related charities .

This support has included:
• $3M to New York City Small Businesses: The Coach Foundation—in partnership with Goldman Sachs and New York City—is a founding partner of NYC’s Small Business Continuity Fund to help the most vulnerable businesses affected by COVID-19. We have committed $3 million to help the places and the people that make New York the vibrant and unique community it is today. • $1M to Hunger and Food Security: As part of our effort to help communities during the COVID-19 pandemic, we created Coach face masks—with 100 percent of net profits donated to fight growing food insecurity around the world. In the U.S., over $1 million was donated to Feeding America . Globally, net profits were donated to the United Nations World Food Programme . • New York City Families in Need: In partnership with Robin Hood, NYC’s largest poverty alleviation nonprofit, and Montefiore Health, the largest hospital in the Bronx, the Coach Foundation has a lead funder to support low-income families in the Bronx who have lost their primary earner due to COVID-19, providing 300 families with $1k in emergency cash assistance. • Our Global Community: We’ve also donated to support frontline assistance in the Hubei region and seven nonprofits across Europe selected by our employees, including hospitals in Regione Lombardia, Italy, and the NHS Charities’ COVID-19 Appeal program in the United Kingdom.

Supporting Our New York Neighborhood

We are proud to support the growing and dynamic community on New York’s west side. In 2019, we became a Founding Funder of the West Side Community Fund, joining over twenty Hudson Yards based companies to support local nonprofits doing meaningful work in the neighborhood we call home.

To date, the Coach Foundation has donated over $20 million to support museums, arts and local parks in our neighborhood, including The Shed and Friends of the High Line.

In 2013, we donated $5 million to support the completion of the High Line’s third section, which includes the “Coach Passage” beneath our headquarters.

In September 2019, we hosted our Spring 2020 runway show on the High Line to celebrate our commitment to the park and its community. On behalf of each guest at the show, we made a donation to the High Line’s Adopt A Plant Program to help sustain its gardens.

MORE WAYS WE GIVE BACK

Matching Gifts

We’re big believers in the idea that one good deed deserves another. Through the Coach Foundation, our eligible employees in North America can match up to $10,000 of personal charitable giving each year, with up to $1,000 double-matched. In 2019, the Coach Foundation gave more than $370,000 in matching charitable gifts to hundreds of nonprofits our employees believe in.

Donations

As part of our 2025 goals set in 2019, Coach, along with our Tapestry family, aim to give $75 million in financial and product donations to nonprofit organizations globally.

Volunteering

As part of our 2025 Goals, we aim, along with our partners at Tapestry, to give 100,000 volunteer service hours around the world. Tapestry offers one volunteer paid day off each year to all global employees to serve their local communities . To support and promote volunteering, our Coach Cares Volunteer Ambassadors help to connect teams globally with volunteering opportunities.

LABOR AND HUMAN RIGHTS

Social Auditing Program

To ensure that the workers who make our products are treated fairly and with respect, the providers who make our finished goods routinely undergo labor and human rights audits against our Supplier Code of Conduct.

On Purpose

In 2018, Coach became the second brand (after our Tapestry family member, Kate Spade) to source from Abahizi Rwanda, an employee-owned, certified b-corp social enterprise initiative based in Rwanda that connects women in our supply chain to economic, education and health opportunities. Learn more about Abahizi Rwanda here.

By 2025, we share a goal, along with our Tapestry family, to provide 50,000 people who craft our products access to similar empowerment programs throughout the workday.
